Hello!

So, I live in the middle of the Midwest (US) and the lgbt community is small where I’m at. Because of that I figured why not try online.

I’m kind of a geek/dork. I’m short, blonde, plus sized (working on it). I’m a research scientist for a life science/biotech company. I play D&D, love to read, play games (board and video), read manga/watch anime, paint minis, build stuff, and play instruments/sing. I have several plants and a couple cats.

I enjoy a large range of both board and video games. Regarding video games, I enjoy everything from Katamari and Stardew to God of War and Fallout. I’m currently playing Stardew Valley while I eagerly await Tears of the Kingdom (Legend of Zelda).Regarding board games, I tend to enjoy more lighthearted games than super competitive games like Risk. It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite but I do rather enjoy Tsuro and Tiny Epic Galaxies.

For books, I enjoy sci-fi, fantasy and anything that catches my eye. I loved Good Omens, although to be fair I love most of Neil Gaiman’s works. And while I do have a backlog to work through, I’m always looking for recommendations. I also enjoy comics and have a soft spot for Calvin & Hobbes.

Regarding shows, I enjoy everything from Great British Baking Show to Bone and Shadows and almost everything in between. I don’t tend to watch horror unless it’s cheesy or has Bruce Campbell. I also don’t tend to watch reality tv. I also enjoy cartoons and anime, with my tastes ranging from Gravity Falls to Vampire Hunter D.

I guess what I’m looking for is for more lgbt folk to talk to. I have friends but they’re all straight, and while I love them dearly and they’re sweethearts, it can be hard for them to relate to me regarding the more lgbt specific problems. Some of them also have kids (I don't) so it's hard to find time to hang out.

It’d be nice to find others who would enjoy chatting (especially longer messages). Or others who would enjoy playing Stardew, Fallout or other games together. Heck, maybe even start a new D&D group. And while I’m not planning for or anticipating things developing into more, who knows? Stranger things have happened. That said, I am not looking to sext or do any of the more risqué things. Not because I’m a prude, it’s just not what I’m looking for.
