Did SO much research setting this up. 40gal tank, substrate mix of organic top soil/play sand/coconut fiber, 3 hides (warm, humid, cool), water on cool side of tank, keeping calcium without d3 in tank & using calcium with d3 on food. Researched safe plants to plant & added the isopods to create a bioactive environment.
This little one (not sure sex yet) is 3 months old. Still a bit skiddish & getting used to me. I’m worried they’re going to forever be afraid.. I’m going to keep talking sweetly to them when I feed them (was told to feed once a day right now while they are a baby) & letting them settle more before attempting to handle. I also don’t want to force it. Not sure what to do. My mother in law decided she wanted to help move them into the new enclosure & I’m pretty sure she traumatized them. Not being patient or gentle and my man and I had to tell her to stop & thankfully she did. But I’m worried that she’s given my poor baby some PTSD with humans. I would love any tips for tricks that worked for you with bonding & getting them comfortable!!
Also need some name ideas for this little cutie, please!
