Are the Platinum Hits and regular version of Lego games the same game?

If I played the plantuim Hits versions of games on Xbox One and then play the original non Platinum Hits version will I be able to play the same save files will it be the same game or will it be a new game?

I want to get the regular version of all the Lego games. I also want to replace my old games. They are old and scratched up and case too and many are Plantuim Hits versions. I don't love the look of PH. But want to play the same save files because trying to 100% all Lego games.

Plus do the platinum versions change anything?
