Santa looking to find an RC motor that is steerable.

Post Body
So my 7yo wants to build his own lego car that he can steer. I love my budding engineer but engineer I am not. I bought an RC motor set off Amazon for him that's compatible.
He was not satisfied with the difficulty steering by making the wheels turn separately and wants to create one that "actually steers".
So do I need a servo motor? Recommendations for websites/ how to videos/ products that don't break Santa's budget are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
