Majora's Mask is a Water Temple

Everybody talks about how the Water Temple in OoT is really hard to beat. But, I've always been able to playthrough the game without a walkthrough or guide and still be able to collect every single possible item. But, when it comes to Majora's Mask? I've tried playing it for 17 years now, on and off, and I've still never made it to the first dungeon in the swamps. To be honest, I've always rated Majora's Mask to be the hardest LoZ game in the franchise.
