Hello! There's been a lot of discussion about the President declassifying the Iran photo with people I know, which led to an interesting hypothetical I thought you all may be able to answer for me. So, as far as my layman's understanding of the law, the President can declassify any information that he deems fit.
What happens if, come January 2021, we have a new president sworn in, and the week after that president is in office, Trump spills the beans on something like Alien Life, or literally anything that is still classified. Is that something he could face consequences for theoretically, and if so, is it actually likely that any charges would be placed forth considering his previously held position?
