A swatting of a Call of Duty player late last night recently turned lethal in Kansas where a 27-year-old man (who has since been identified, but I won't here) was shot and killed by SWAT. Police have since, according to local news outlets, found out that the call that triggered the shooting went through a substation and then to dispatch, in an attempt to hide his location. The motive is not clear, though the captured twitter screenshots seem to suggest that it was an argument over a bet.
I have a couple of questions for this sub.
/1. Would the officer involved in the shooting be possibly facing disciplinary actions for the shooting.
And
/2. Could the caller be facing any charges at all as a result of the shooting? I think the answer is yes, but how much legal trouble could he be facing if he is caught?
