Post Body

Bought a condo with my own money and mom co-signed the lease. Moved in with girlfriend in January 2022. We are debating moving together to New York. Would common law apply if we lived in BC Canada together for 1.5 years, and then lived together in the US for 0.5 years, or is time spent living together in another country not counted towards common law? Additionally, if we lived 1.5 years together in BC, Canada, and then lived some time in New York, then resumed living in Canada, does the clock reset on the 2 year co-habitation, or not?
