First off, thanks for reading. Really appreciate any and all advice i receive.
I’m starting an autobody and automotive sales business with someone and i want to protect myself from them taking the business from me if things go sideways.
We both currently have businesses registered in this field which one of us obviously will dissolve and join the other. I’m unsure how to structure that so when the company’s net worth grows, i can’t just be kicked out and left for dead. My partner has done a few things that make me worry prematurely which may be complete anxiety and not actual cause for concern.
He’s signed the lease to the building only in his name. From my understanding it should be in both names which will give me legal right to the building.
He wants to operate under his business name and sign me on as an employee, again, i would feel more comfortable as an owner or some sort?
This business will be incorporated when we open up shop if it matters.
Thanks!
