I am a truck driver and get payed a percentage of gross income. Basically a commission. Just found out my employer lowered my percentage by 3 points which is very significant without ever giving me any notice. I didn’t catch it on the first paystub which is monthly. So I have just received my second paystub with that rate. Can he just get away with this?
I approached him about it and he claimes the previous wage, which he had been paying me for over a year already, was a mistake. Although this is a small operation and he is usually the one literally calculating and filling out my sheets which detail what each load makes and the percentage I get paid of it.
