Post Body

Work in Finance- in Ontario new leadership team drastically changed variable comp model. Typically- the variable component is 50% of overall comp and is substantial 80-100k. The new changes with same production reduce the variable by approx 60%. I was told of these changes last week and have a deadline to sign next week. It’s a large global finance firm with assertive lawyers. We’ve been promised new areas of business / support will make it easier etc but who knows.

Like all- I have bills to pay etc. ideally, I need time to figure things out; and can’t afford to quit and say it’s constructive dismissal and try to fight. They could just grind me down.

I’m the top sales for last 10 years : as the letter is “electronic” can I just sign it and add clause “without prejudice “? And this can buy me some time?

Also to add..All previous employment letters were very long and all had a clause that says they can change anything they want at anytime..
