VIN on the Vehicle i bought doesn't match the Number on the Ownership?

The vehicle is a 2008 V6 4D White Ford Escape the ownership says 2008 V6 4D White Ford Escape but the numbers on the Side door panel and window don't match the ownership and im really confused... both numbers are clean and not reported stolen.. the ODO on my vehicle says 155,000KM but UVIP says it was last registered at 259,000KM...so i have a vehicle and completely different/identical ownership... where do i go from here? can i bring the Actual VIN thats on the vehicle in and get a new ownership? thanks so much everyone; and yes i realize i should've checked to make sure the #'s matched before i purchased so it is my own fault. TIA
