I met this guy on a dating appa year ago.. he came over, and we had a great time. Soon after he was like he needs me to help him with fees for a court case and I was like ok and gave him $200. Next time we meet he asks me again and I told him I wasnt meeting him for money.. TLDR he keeps in touch, talking everyday and then comes over one day asks for more money, i put my feet down and the manipulations begin from abusive childhood to that he was raped early on etc.. I didn’t budge , he hurles abuses and goes away.. after about a month we reconnect.. I had a soft spot for him.. we agreed to meet and the pattern restarts ..he then asks me more money now running close to $1000 at each ask., I was stupid and gave him that.. funny enough none of them revolved around sex.. I had a tough upbringing and made it work in life and have a fairly comfortable life.. I felt manipulated in all of this.. recently his attitude towards me had become transactional which made me suspect there was someone or something else.
Either way fast forward to last month, I send him a routine text and I get an instant response from a stranger who claimed to be his boyfriend .. and telling me I got scammed.. turns out this was happening to 10 other people at varying degrees .. some for money, some for sex.. the stranger then goes to message everyone on the contacts list announcing how much of a whore the boyfriend has been and even goes to parents about it.. I was hurt but took a mature stance to ensure the guy wouldn’t hurt himself.: so while I was supportive, the individual has never expressed remorse or if he understands my pain.. but continues to ask for money giving me some strange reasons for why he needs it.. I am like no I can’t help and now I am dealing with blackmail or just manipulation.. should I get help medically and legally? I struggle to get out of his clutches.
