Statute of limitations to pursue personal loan debt in AZ?
Post Body

Location: Arizona Story: I, against any semblance of good judgement, loaned around $7,000 to my ex over the course of a year. This $ was tracked in detail over an app we both used, and they emailed me stating they would pay back the $, listing specific amount. There was NOT a promissory note. To date, post-breakup, they have paid back only a very small amount & seem to be ghosting. From what I have read, Arizona’s statute of limitations on debt for written contracts is 6 years & 3 years for oral contracts. If this is indeed the case, I have two questions: - Is an email generally considered by AZ judges to be a written contract? - Is it in my best interest to pursue this either via Small Claims or Justice court within 3 years?
