Today, i received a ticket for unsafe lane change. I merged over to the right lane on the freeway. About 10 seconds later all cars ahead of me slammed on their brakes, and i was rear ended, other cars collided with the car that hit me. After the cop arrived, he said that all 3 drivers said i was speeding and merged lanes. Which is incorrect (As i have dash cam footage to prove) they also said i didn’t mark my blinker (Which is incorrect as well, yet harder to prove). I was issued a court date and i am not entirely sure how to approach it. I know for a fact i had a safe distance to merge over, and i was the one that was being tailgated and rear ended 10 seconds later. What am i looking at here? If i want to plead not guilty?
