So I live in florida and have two roommates. One works from home and apart from his love of booze is fairly decent. The other is not so much. He is very violent when upset, uses drugs, and may be schizophrenic. He also lies like it’s his mother tongue and from his words has not even paid rent. I’ve gone back and forth with the landlord who, despite literally having drug paraphernalia in his hand as proof, refuses to do anything. I fear for my safety and that of my wife. It’s so bad that we have to have all our food and bathroom items in our room on top of our stuff just so it doesn’t get stolen and because of him bringing drugs and strangers into the home my wife urinates into cups because she can’t leave our room. Do I have just cause to with hold rent until this is resolved in the state of florida?
