Posting for a family friend
Carlos is 22, was brought into the US (Texas) as an infant from Mexico. Carlos would desperately like to get citizenship so he can go to school and advance his career. The problem is Carlos, like many non-citizens is terrified of beginning the process as he fears risking his and his families living situation by exposing them as "illegal" and having them deported. I am asking for 1) what he can reasonably expect as far as the process of becoming legal 2) is his fear reasonable? 3) general advice.
Thanks
