College scam??

I was wondering if someone had advice on how i could get $12,000 from a private school that went out of business. Back in 2018 i went to a private nursing school (brightwood) that went out of buisness due to certifications or something of that nature. My pops paid 12k for the first semester via check and i was wondering if theres a way to get the money back.
