My niece just started at a pharmacy/grocery store chain in Florida and was told to stock boxes in the back freezer room. When she was in there the manager came in, locked the door, and started complimenting her appearance. The encounter ended when the manager began to grope her, and she made an excuse to leave.
She told her mother, who just said to leave it alone and not go back to work. However, Iād like to make sure that this gets handled through the appropriate channels. I understand that itās very much he-said she-said, and Iām not sure if there are cameras in the area where it happened. What is our best course of action, if any?
Edit: We appreciate all of the support and responses!
I donāt want to force my niece to do anything she doesnāt want to do, and her mom is adamant on not going to the police or ācausing any troubleā. Iāve shared the appropriate courses of action and resources, and made it known that my niece has my full support in whatever her final decision is. Thank you all again for being so wonderful and helpful during this!
