At the beginning of January I was informed that the state (Washington, USA) would allow landlords to evict tenants if they were behind on payments. Because I was was behind, I had told her verbally that I would not be able to pay on time and would be packing my place to leave before April. It was later, on 03/14 was given my 2 week eviction notice, which was signed a few days before on the 9th so I was required to leave by the 23rd. When I was handing the keys back to the place, she informed me that I would be charged for the month of April because I "didn't give proper notice that I was moving". How can i be charged for a month if my landlord gave me notice that I would be required to leave before said month can even take place? I also have a copy of the eviction notice in case I needed it for any reason.
