Hi all, first-time poster here. I'm a nursing student and I fractured my foot last week. I went to urgent care where I was told I fractured my foot could wear one of those medical boots to walk around until I saw my PCP or specialist (but nothing was actually prescribed to me brace-wise). My Dean is saying that the hospital would not even let me on the floor with a boot or even a smaller medical shoe type thing, citing patient safety. I have been told by a lawyer friend that I am protected under the ADA title 3, and I even have the 'essential duties' list we signed starting out the program that says that reasonable accommodations must be made if needed per the ADA.
I guess my question is, am I actually considered disabled now and am I protected under the ADA?
I'm worried that after going to see a specialist or doctor I will be told to be non-weight bearing or have it cast put on, which would inhibit my mobility
