Company not paying me if I don't clock out.

Post Body

I work as a landscaper at a golf course in South Florida. I have been working there almost 2 years now. About 6 months ago we had a meeting in which my supervisor and superintendent sat the whole crew down, and announced that if anyone clocked in and forgets to clock out or vice-versa they will not be paid for the day. Since then I have had quite a few days where I forget to clock out due to exhaustion at the end of the day. Every time this has happened the superintendent has come to me after doing payroll, and gleefully told me how he'd gotten a free day out of me. Now I thought this was normal until I was telling my friend about it and he told me that's illegal. So I looked it up and from my understanding it does look like it is a direct violation of florida labor laws. I want to move forward with suing them or any other legal action I can take. I want to know who I need to speak with and what is the best way of going about. Also it's over 1,500 in lost wages and another former employee quit when they took a weeks pay using that policy.
