I live in central MS. As the title says, my wife got into an argument with some friends a couple of days ago where they called her yelling and screaming at her. My wife hung up and they called back 2 more times to which my wife did not answer. They then proceeded to text my wife and tell her she was a piece of shit and that they didn't want anymore contact with her and they were serious. The day after that happened they came to our house and put letters inside my mailbox. These letters were 3 pages long and once again were just bashing my wife saying how terrible she is. This obviously upset my wife and she text them asking what thier problem was. The next day we had child protective services show up at our house saying there was a claim our children were being abused and not fed and that we smoke weed in front of them all day long which caused us to take a drug test which was passed with everything being negative. All of this in the midst of planning and preparing for my youngest 1st birthday party. So we went today to fill a harassment charge at the police station but wanted to know if it is even worth it to pursue this and if we would have a legal case if we did. Im just afraid they will come back and try to start more drama which I do not want to have to be around. It has caused me to buy cameras that I put on the front of my house and it could have cost me my job had CPS found anything they didn't like. I dont really care about money or even a legal suit I just want them to leave my family and my wife alone. So I guess what I am asking advice on is would it be worthwhile to pursue action or should I wait to see if they try anything else before I try and pursue.
