So I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today we had a smoke alarm inspection in our apartment. The apartment manager and maintenance man were present. I was at work and my wife was at home with our 2 pets. As my wife scrambled to get our puts secured the apartment manager and maintenance man unlocked our door and entered, without knocking, before my wife could secure our dog. They were there for about 1 minute. As an apartment manager allowed to just unlock your apartment whenever they please? We got a 24-hour notice (which wasn't really 24 hours, maybe 12 at most), but entering someone's home, even if it is a rental seems a bit shady. And giving ZERO chance for her to secure our dog is as well.
