My company has decided to shut down my office permanently during the pandemic (we let our lease expire). Now as they are getting ready to go back to the offices, they have informed us that they will not be getting us a new office despite still having offices in other locations.
My contract has a statement that says I can quit and get severance given "receipt of notice that the employee’s principal workplace will be unilaterally relocated more than 35 miles"? They are not requiring me to move but now I have no office.
Do I have an argument to make here that my workplace has been moved since the closest company office to me is more than 35 miles away? Also, it says I must notify them within 90 days of the "initial occurrence" but I'm not sure when that starts, if its when they cancelled our lease or when they informed us the office will not be renewed
Thank you for the help
