My friend apparently has a suspended in Indiana from an accident back in the day but has had a California license after he moved there. That license is now expired and he can’t renew because he just found out it was suspended. He has a court hearing. What happens?

I’m freaking out and worried about the worst for them. How did he get a California license if he had this issue in Indiana? How did he not know about the suspension until now?
