Post Body

Hello,

My girlfriend and I moved out of an apartment about a month and a half ago. We gave them the keys, paid up everything that was due up to that date and moved out, everyone happy.

Fast forward two days ago, they send a picture of an electricity bill which higher than usual, stating how the previous bill was incorrect (basically the amount of electricity used wasn't determined at all, they made an assumption based on the previous months and just sent a bill based on that assumption), asking us to pay for it. I realize that this is probably true as the electrical bills were oddly cheap, but they knew about the amounts and didn't mention anything to us. We did move out earlier than the contract stated, but kept our end of the deal which was to pay two additional months in rent before moving out (this was stated in the contract and we did pay for it).

We disagreed saying how everything that was due, was paid. Keep in mind that this wasn't raised when we handed them the keys back, they said everything is fine (we presented them with evidence that everything is paid) and that we're done. They threated to sue us, to which I said go ahead. I also suspect that they had secretly recorded our conversation, which I think is also illegal.

Opinions, advice, thoughts are very welcome.

EDIT: Location: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Europe.
