Sorry for formatting errors - I rarely post and I'm rushing!
I work as a teacher at a private school near Los Angeles, CA. Our city has been particularly wrecked by COVID, but the powers that be have dictated that it is time for children to return to campus.
Teachers and education workers became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine on March 1st, and many colleagues (myself included) have received the first dose of the vaccine. However, my employer sent out a document for everyone to record their vaccination status and see the vaccination status of their colleagues.
It's a spreadsheet with faculty member's last names, as well as vaccination dates and another column listed for "I'm not planning on getting the vaccine". We were instructed to fill out the form by a certain date this week, meaning our vaccination status (or lack thereof) will be shared with the entire staff at school.
I was very excited to receive these chemicals, and I don't particularly care about telling close friends about my vaccination status but feel awkward for my colleagues who don't wish to get vaccinated. Is it a HIPAA violation for my admin to have us share our vaccination status with all of our coworkers?
