Roommates moved out in July 2020 left behind stuff, kept a set of keys, and now recently used them to retrieve stuff without notice or permission from us....
Post Body

So my roommates left and moved out in July of 2020, left behind a plethora of random belongings in our basement and attics spaces.

We asked them before to come retrieve their belongs and even appropriately gave until the end of September to retrieve them, but warned them not a day later and they agreed to these terms in front of my current roommate and his girlfriend. I also warned that I would get rid of their stuff at my leisure.

And when it came down to the keys we asked them to give us their sets of keys, they kept one set under the guise, that they lost this particular set, and mind you our previous and current landlord told them to relinquish those key before they were supposed to move out, and told them what is now to be determined to be a lie.

So now i found out that yesterday when i was asleep and my other roommates were at work they came to the house and stole the washer and dryer, that belonged to a previous roommate who moved out 3 years prior, and he relinquished it to the house, not to anyone in particular.

so my question with the information presented what can me and my roommates do.

i have 2 other stories related to these roommates if you want to get an idea of what i used to deal with.

edit one, so i do remember telling them that if they left their stuff there, that they're technically relinquishing it to me.
