Back in 2019 I work for a cannabis oil company that tattoo " make me a salary manager" because it would be cheaper to pay me a salary than pay me overtime. I never signed a new contract. And the only contract i have says $20/HR.
I left negatively with the company a few issues arose. I dont feel like it was a constructed dismissal legally. But i was definitely pushed out. I was told that I was a owner of the company signed on camera(didnt get a copy of the contract so moot point) for 0.3% equity. This was suppose to "compensate me for the overtime I was working.
When I was fired I lost my ownership. He clawed back the equity. So I have 419.3 hrs of unpaid overtime.
I preformed no real manager role. It was all sudo work and everything was controlled by the CEO including hiring approval, firing, schedule and the such. I was put in front of a distillation machine, trained, and preformed production level work for 80% of my time.
I also signed no contract for my position and no paperwork setting my roles or duties. In fact my contract for my original position has the duties and responsibility section is blank.
