I am a late 20's male in Texas. I called 911 on December 10th, 2020 for cyclical vomiting and extreme abdominal pain. I was trying to drive to an urgent care clinic and almost lost consciousness driving in traffic. I was transferred by ambulance from *** I was given 8 milligrams of Zofran in the ambulance on route to the E.R. with no relief of symptoms. In the ER, I was given Haldol intravenously to treat my symptoms. After I felt better, the doctor discharged me and I was instructed to exit the hospital.
I had to call the *** Fire Department to find out where I had been picked up, and had to call a taxi to take me to where I had pulled over.
The next day, I had a severe case of Dystonia, beginning that morning at work. It got worse every time I had to drive somewhere, to the point that I was standing on one leg as I was driving in traffic to control the tremors. It got worse until that evening, when it required me to go to * E.R. for treatment, where I was given 2mg of Ativan, which put me to sleep and allowed me to relax my muscles after 10ish hours .
My entire body tensed up and I could not move my neck. My head was stuck looking up and to the right at an extreme angle.
I was given no paperwork telling me the potential side effects of the Haloperidol. It's known that it can cause this reaction, but no one told me.
I feel like I was legitimately abandoned by that hospital, and I don't feel I should have to pay their bill, whenever I do receive it. I can't even get an account number from them to log into their online portal.
Is this a legitimate thing or am I over reacting?
*** real names of places and hospitals edited out for legal reasons maybe? What am I, a lawyer?
