So I live in Vancouver Canada. My best friend is constantly being harassed by both her neighbors; one of them demanded a payment of $100k claiming their house has foundation issues as a result of the construction happening.
Jennifer (my best friend) had to hire a geotech and lawyer to fight these claims. In the end, it was determined the foundation damage to the neighbor's house was due to age and nothing to do with her or the construction that was happening.
The neighbor was not satisfied and started submitting frivolous complaints to the City about her, like, illegal home rentals, off-coloured pipes, messy lawn, etc., when the City inspector came by, he concluded Jennifer hadn't broken any bylaws. Her rentals are completely legal and lawn was perfectly fine.
Jennifer's neighbor is persistent, however. She sends her messages and tells her that a tenant was parking in her spot. This neighbor is giving her ongoing issues, like threatening legal action or complaining to the City. This lady is delusional! Jennifer doesn't want to counter sue for compensation because it's expensive. What else can be done about this?
