Long story short: I signed up for pest control service today and watched the dude basically do nothing for the initial service except spray around in a few spots outside my house. I'm pretty sure I got scammed. Is it too late to get out of this contract without paying the early termination fee now that he's "performed the initial service"? Since I signed the contract today, I'm still within the 3 business days and the wording of this confuses me:
You, the customer, may cancel this transaction any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the day of this transaction by giving written notice of cancellation to EcoShield Pest Solutions. If for any reason, at any time after receiving the initial service the contract is canceled before it completion, customer agrees to pay the full initial service charge less amount already paid for the initial service. The agreement term is contingent upon the customer staying on schedule for their assigned and agreed to number of services outlined above over the term of the agreement. If the customer falls off schedule to the outlined service schedule, this will cause the term of the agreement to extend until the amount of services agreed upon have been completed. Accounts 30 days past due will be assessed a $20 late fee. Accounts sent to collections will be assessed a $15 recovery fee. Non-sufficient funds (NSF) checks will be assessed a $25 fee. I have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of this agreement including any additional terms and disclosures listed above. I confirm that my email address is entered correctly and agree to receive my agreement, additional disclosures, and future account notifications electronically.
