so obviously i already know it’s illegal for my boss to tell me not to apply for unemployment/partial unemployment due to COVID cutting my hours and pay dramatically, but i don’t exactly work in the most law-first establishment.
my question is, is my boss right to believe his government small business loan for COVID will be impacted by his employees receiving unemployment or partial unemployment? edit: new york state if that helps at all
i guess we’ll see what happens when the loans come in, i just don’t want to screw myself in the meantime 🥴
side note-i’m in new york state

i’m getting paid but working 10-20hrs a week vs the 40-60 i was working before COVID, and my pay has been cut to minimum wage
so full unemployment would be around $800 more than i’m currently making a week, idk what partial would be but still substantial
