NH- I want to access my police records from my abuse case when I was a child.

I am 25 almost 26 years old, and I was 5 or 6 years old when I was assaulted by another child in my neighborhood. It was in either 1999 or 2001, and we were both minors, no criminal charges were brought. I just want to know what happened as I don't remember. I don't know what my options would be or if the police department would have the records still. Any advice is appreciated thank you in advance.
