Getting divorced.
I drive a truck for a living. When I lived with my family, I could work the hours required to make <$75-90k/yr. After my ex threw me out, I decided to take a huge pay cut so I would be able to see my kids. The nature of the trucking industry is that there are plenty of jobs paying around $100k/yr, but you have to trade your life for them. If you want to stay local and be home every night, 50k/yr is about as good as it gets.
Poor timing, I know.
The problem comes as they begin to take child support (from my 90k/yr wages) from my current paycheck. This leaves me with around $1000/mo bring-home for 45ish hour weeks.
I lost my attorney because I was no longer able to pay him. Now I'm being ordered to pay her attorney fees (she filed), on top of the child support ($1200/mo) and health coverage for the kids ($340/mo).
Bottom line is that I'm being pushed towards homelessness(my electric was off for almost two weeks last month), and I have no money to defend myself. I've applied with our local legal aid outfit, but still waiting to hear back.
Also, her attorney seems to see me as a wounded animal who she is waiting to clamp down on. For example, at our last hearing (9-24), the judge asked me, or suggested to me, if I was interested in settling. I expressed that yes, I am willing, and have already discussed that willingness with my ex and her attorney. Judge looked to her attorney, who replied that she did in fact have a draft written up, and that she would set up a meeting to discuss the details with me. Our next hearing is in 6 days (10-10), and I haven't heard anything from her. I also emailed her and haven't heard back. I feel she is trying to hold out until right before the hearing so I feel backed into a corner and more willing to make concessions I would not in a clear mindset.
Anyway, feeling hunted and screwed over, not sure what to do or where to go from here, figured I'd see if you all could help me out with this. Thanks!
TL/DR: I'm being fucked over in divorce court and need advice on where to turn
Edit: Stark county Ohio, for those keeping score
