[California] I received a ticket for "Amplified Exhaust" on my motorcycle

I previously received a ticket for CVC 27151(a) - "Amplified Exhaust" while riding my motorcycle. The sheriff who issued the ticket did not use a decibel reader nor did he state how he measured the sound levels.

I have court in three days to contest this violation. Should I do anything between now and then to prepare? If I'm innocent until proven guilty shouldn't he have to prove that my exhaust at the time was over the legal limit / modified?
