I have lupus, legally 80% disabled. my now ex boyfriend has a severe drinking problem, and I was finally able to call the police the last time he went on a rampage. he always took my phone away and locked me inside the house after he threw me around. it's been once a month for almost 2 years. I have decided to press charges along with the state (MN), mostly because this time he hurt my dog. I am curious if i can bring up past abuse, or if I am restricted to just the time when I was able to call the police. I have dated videos and pictures from past assaults.
I am talking to an attorney this week, but I'm just curious.
yep. and hes on a no contact right now. I was so freaked out when the cops came that night, I just wanted everyone to go away. I had someone call me last week with updates on his first hearing, the one before the arraignment, and I was told I can still press charges if I wanted.
oh that's awful. the cops told me that night that he admitted to everything. Not that he cant recant, but I'm hoping he keeps his guilty plea thank you so much for sharing your story and the kind words <3
my dogs and are are fine now. He has a no contact order. My dog's side was sore for a day or two after that night, and we are moved out of that house, ready to get back to normal.
we are all fine now, we just moved into a new place in a quiet community with a cop at the end of the driveway 🤗 thank you so much for the insight and for checking in <3

nice. I think it I was referred to the state attorney that's prosecuting him, not my own personal one. I know I dont have to pay for it
