So, I purchased some section 8 properties in Indianapolis, IN a while back. They did well for a while, crime spiked in the area and my PM started charging me an arm and a leg for turn over costs. Fast forward a few years and things havenāt worked out.
I do not live in Indiana, so this has all been long distance.
So I got a new property management group and when I sent an e-mail to my old PM, apparently I sent a termination e-mail to their maintenance team, and not to the broker himself.
This was his reply after a few texts exchanged back and forth: https://imgur.com/gallery/qQfbSwf
Iām looking for a RE lawyer in the Indianapolis area online. Sent out a few e-mails with questions, havenāt heard anything as of yet, but I will try some more.
If anyone here happens to know, is what this guy even legal? I figured there would be some penalty for ending an auto-renewing contract, and I am not surprised by pretty much anything he says or will do. He already shut off the water to the tenants without transferring keys to the new PM group, so I had them go in, change locks and turn the water back on.
Sad thing is, they have an account where my rental income is deposited each month and I have to request withdrawals from. I suspect getting the 4K out of that account will be met with every stop-method he can make an excuse for, or just not transferred ājust becauseā.
Any advice would be helpful, thanks.
