So I got fired today. Grease burns all over the side of my face. The boss wouldn't let me use any antibiotics or bandages. He told me to take it all off because he doesn't want me at the register with the bandages. I told him it's bad. Like flesh burnt away from hot ass grease. He told me go home and don't come back and went on a rant about how I need to grow some balls and be a team player. We had plenty of people for this slow Thursday. And I would have worked if he let me at the register with the bandages. Or we could have made it work somehow. It wasn't even that distracting, the bandages.
Anyway, I dont think it's right that I should be fired because I'm taking the necessary steps to care for my burns and prevent facial scars as much as I can. He should have made reasonable accommodation before going straight to firing. Hes mad that he paid me for time off instead of workmans comp when I cut off my toe and never followed up to get reimbursed as if that's my fault. Anyway, this doesn't feel legit. I can get another job without missing a beat, but this guy's a real asshole and he's been doing illegal shit that he doesn't even let me know I'm getting caught up in. Like telling me to lie to the insurance company (which I haven't yet) about how long I've been here and paying me under the books for half a year without telling me. He let me report my earnings on federal documents, thinking I'm paying taxes. I get that some people don't mind getting paid off the books. Well some people don't mind smoking pot. Both are federally illegal. You can't just voulenteer someone to be paid off the books and be like "oh that's weird.. You SHOULD have a W-2 coming in the mail" when I'm asking why I have received it. Sorry I'm ranting. I just don't like the idea if this guy doing whatever he wants with his limping pizza business.
