So I live in eastern Pennsylvania. And recently started to notice black mold growing pretty heavily around a big bay window That we don’t open or use. Our landlord has already been informed and has not come out to handle the situation. This is not the first issue we have had with the apartment that we have brought to their attention. We have it all in writing with screen shots of the maintenance requests as well as in the company portal. We think that the mold is coming in from an old in the wall air conditioning unit that is no longer there. They only put a cover and mild on the outside and plastered over the hole on the inside. What are my options on how to proceed with this. I’m aware that they have to remedy the situation ASAP but I’m not optimistic of anything being done. I’ve been forced out of my apartment due to having a new born and not wanting to expose her to the mold since the landlord still has yet to respond to the request and in the past I’ve had to wait until the following Monday to have anything handled.
