[Florida] Car insurance - I'm not on the title but ex-wife registered it in both our names.

Post Body

When I was married I foolishly co-signed on a loan for the wife's car. Both our names were on the loan, title, and registration. Part of the divorce agreement was that I had to pay off the ex's car. I did that and re-titled it in her name only. When the registration came due I sent her enough money to re-register the car in her name but instead she opted for the cheaper renewal fee.

More than a year later I continue to keep the car insured because I'm afraid she's going to get in another accident (she had several during our brief marriage). The insurance is very expensive because of her driving record. I could save a few thousand a year if I only had to insure my own car.

Can I take that car off my insurance? Technically she is the sole owner of the car. Am I responsible for any accidents just because my name is on the registration?
