Hello, this is my first post here and I am sorry for any errors.
This is in PA by the way.
Anyway, to start my friend was working at a seasonal attraction as a sound designer. They were hired at the start of the summer and was tasked with keeping a record of their own time. Other than that there was no other contractural obligations or limits. When they were hired their boss didn't say that there was any limit of hours and that they just had to report their times to get paid the next pay period. Cut forward a few months, and my friend is finally getting the details that they had been trying all summer three weeks before the attraction opened. They worked through school and a second job and over the 3 weeks and a few into October and accumulated over 80 hours totaling just over 1000 before taxes before they quit due to having to buy supplies totaling $300 of their own money(which was not reimbursed) for the attraction and not being able to balance school life well and being treated overall poorly. This was 2 weeks ago. Other actors/workers have gotten their paychecks and my friend hasn't seen a single penny. So today they went up to the attraction to pick up the supplies they bought and take back their sounds which weren't paid for and they were told to leave the attraction grounds or the owner would call the police and that my friend would be hearing from the owners lawyer on Monday because they don't want to pay the 1000 for the reason of "I wasn't expecting you to work that many hours." Does my friend have any grounds to take this to court or should they settle for whatever they offer?
