There are 4 of us living in a 4 BR house, each with a separate bedroom but shared common spaces (kitchen, living room, etc). Basically, the landlord wanted to get a contractor in to evaluate some damage in a roommate's room. He notified two of the housemates but neglected to inform me. Neither housemate thought to inform me, either.
The landlord provided the contractor with the lockbox combo to get the house key and I opened my (room) door one day to see a startled stranger trying to explain why he was there.
I'm not super upset about it, just curious to know whether notifying my roommates is sufficient when we live in separate rooms with shared access. It's pretty easy to access any individual room once you've gotten into the house. Thanks in advance!
Location - Washington DC
ETA - Each of us signed individual leases - when one of us moves out the landlord will just sign another lease with the newcomer
