New office for major company lied about possible income earnings through commission to hire 45+ people.
Post Body

Hey all,

This in Nevada. This is for a major nationwide company with a lot of media exposure.

My company started a new sales office in Nevada. During the hiring process, during phone interviews, all of us were constantly told and promised an uncapped commission structure. This was never in writing unfortunately, but was verbally communicated to every single person hired.

Our commission structure was finally revealed and it's capped and a very low amount compared to possible incomes we were told over the phone (averaging 50k when promised up to 100k)

What is the possible recourse for this? I understand not being in writing obviously hurts. Is this being hired under false pretenses? We have no union, we are a bunch of younger people working for a great company, but unfortunately a lot of us left stable careers with the guide of making a lot more.
