Post Body

Hey everyone! I’m in a bit of a bind and trying to figure out if I should file a lawsuit.

I lived in a large apartment complex for 4 years. I recently bought a house, and my lease ended in November. However, they informed me I had to also give 60 days notice, which is January 3rd. I paid rent through this date, but moved out of my apartment and into my house. However, I left a few things behind that I just didn’t have time to move because of the weather. This included some hanging clothes and my wedding dress. Today I went to my apartment to finish cleaning up and move the rest of my stuff and Everything was gone. The apartment complex painted and changed my floors, so it was obvious they had come in. They did not contact me through email or on the phone.

The only information they provided me today was that they did Indeed through everything away, including my wedding dress and baby photos, and that they’d be sending me a bill for the labor of cleaning my apartment.

What can I do? I live in Louisiana and have never dealt with anything like this.
