Her car was parked in my driveway, and some guy who was running from another accident came flying into my driveway thinking it was an alley or something. He smashed my gf’s car and veered into my yard. I was working in the yard and started running up to him, so he put it in reverse and ran away. She came out after hearing the noise, and we had the plates so we called the cops and got a police report, but they haven’t found the guy. Her car was totaled, so she’s getting a new one, but progressive is telling her that they’re holding the hit and run against her. He said, “in the insurance world it doesn’t matter,” and that any incident will make her insurance go up. Is there anything we can do? She’s looking at other insurance providers, but they’re all more expensive with this claim now.
