So in my apartment, as of when I am writing this, my landlord has yet to provide heat to my apartment. This problem goes back a few weeks to when my landlord had a plumber come by to check the heating system in the building and found that there is some issue that would require repairs. So instead of paying to fix the problem the landlord wants to mount space heaters in each of the bedrooms, which my roommates and I believe to be a fire hazard considering the size of the rooms.
My questions are whether or not it is legal for them to provide space heaters as means to heat the apartment? If so, do we have to pay the increased electricity cost brought by the heaters?
