Leased a car in [Illinois] and live in [Indiana] it has been 6 weeks and the temporary plate expired 2 weeks and I need to drive it in 3 days.

I am unable to drive my current car. I am told by the dealer that they cannot extend the temporary plate. The title still is not in my name. I made my first payment on the car last week. The dealer is being very unhelpful. The two people I have been in contact with just keep advising me to be patient and that there is nothing they can do. Not sure if this is true or if they are just being lazy. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to extend the temporary plate? I leased a Jeep Wrangler from a Dodge dealership, not sure if that is relevant.
