A friend of mine (single mother w/ child) wants to get married in Vegas and not in California so her tax and MediCal status doesn't get changed by signing a marriage certificate in California. I said it didn't sound like a good idea but I didn't know how to further explain it. Is it a bad idea? Why or why not? And where can I look for more information to be more informed?
